Carlsmith Beach Park and James Kealoha Beach Park in Hilo are closed for the remainder of today due to a shark sighting, according to the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The decision to close the beach parks was made in coordination with the Ocean Safety Division of the Hawaii Fire Department.
