The left-hander struck out five without issuing a walk.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Freddie Freeman had a pair of hits in a game that ended in a tidy 1 hour, 52 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Will Klein, Kyle Hurt and Tanner Scott finished off the shutout for the Dodgers with a scoreless inning each. Scott earned his ninth save with an 11-pitch ninth inning.<\/p>\n<p>Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen (6-3) continued his recent run of solid pitching by allowing one run over seven innings, but the Ohtani homer proved costly. It was the only run Rasmussen has allowed in 21 innings over his past three starts. He permitted six hits and no walks while fanning seven.<\/p>\n<p>The Tampa Bay offense was held to three hits, one each from Taylor Walls, Austin Slater and Yandy Diaz.<\/p>\n<p>The Dodgers had their chances early, getting back-to-back one-out singles in the first inning from Andy Pages and Freeman before Mookie Betts grounded into a double play. The hosts had runners on first and third with one out in the second, but Kyle Tucker was thrown out at home plate on a bunt from Alex Freeland, and Chuckie Robinson grounded into a fielder\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n<p>Rasmussen was on a run of 11 consecutive outs when he faced Ohtani to open the bottom of the sixth. Ohtani sent a first-pitch cutter 427 feet to center field for his 15th homer of the year and fourth over his past six games.<\/p>\n<p>Ohtani, who led all major-leaguers when All-Star Game balloting was released for the first time this week, is set to pitch in the finale of the three-game series on Wednesday. The Dodgers logged one-run wins in each of the set\u2019s first two games.<\/p>\n<p>Angels rout<br \/>\nDiamondbacks<\/p>\n<p>Reid Detmers allowed three hits over seven shutout innings to help the visiting Los Angeles Angels to a 7-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second game of their three-game series on Tuesday night in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Detmers (3-5) struck out three without a walk and the left-hander threw first-pitch strikes to 19 of 24 hitters.<\/p>\n<p>Zach Neto homered and tripled, Mike Trout homered and doubled, Logan O\u2019Hoppe delivered three hits, Denzer Guzman contributed two hits and scored two runs, and Donovan Walton finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Angels, who have won five of seven.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona starter Merrill Kelly (5-6) went 5 1\/3 innings, allowing six runs and a season-high 11 hits while striking out four and walking one.<\/p>\n<p>The Diamondbacks had won two in a row and three of four.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels scored first for the 10th straight game after Jo Adell led off the second with a double to center. But O\u2019Hoppe was thrown out at the plate trailing the play.<\/p>\n<p>Neto tripled high off the wall in center to start the fifth. Trout then stepped up and cranked the first pitch over the wall in nearly the same spot in center for a two-run homer and a 5-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels opened the sixth with back-to-back singles from Guzman and O\u2019Hoppe. Kelly departed after getting Walton to foul out, but Trout came through with a two-out double off Ryan Thompson to extend the lead to 6-0.<\/p>\n<p>Walton\u2019s RBI ground-rule double off the warning track in right in the eighth extended the lead to 7-0.<\/p>\n<p>Down 2-0, Adrian Del Castillo lined a single to center to lead off the third for the Diamondbacks, but Neto made a nice backhand play on a grounder by LuJames Groover to start a 6-4-3 double play.<\/p>\n<p>Detmers later struck out Corbin Carroll with runners on the corners to end the sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Twins score<br \/>\nearly and often in drubbing of Rangers<\/p>\n<p>Kody Clemens went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a double as the Minnesota Twins pulled away for a 12-2 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Trevor Larnach finished 4-for-6 with a solo homer for Minnesota, which has earned back-to-back wins to open the three-game series. Royce Lewis and Josh Bell drove in two runs apiece.<\/p>\n<p>Ezequiel Duran and Elias Diaz notched one RBI each for Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Twins right-hander Zebby Matthews (3-4) limited the Rangers to two runs on eight hits in seven innings. He issued no walks and struck out four.<\/p>\n<p>Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker (2-6) allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits in 3 1\/3 innings. He walked two, fanned four and surrendered a pair of homers.<\/p>\n<p>The Twins finished with 17 hits, compared to eight for the Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota jumped to a 10-0 lead before the end of the fourth inning.<\/p>\n<p>Larnach led off the game with a homer. Bell increased the Twins\u2019 lead to 2-0 later in the inning with a single that drove in Byron Buxton.<\/p>\n<p>The Twins pulled ahead 5-0 in the third. Clemens belted a three-run homer to right that also scored Larnach and Buxton.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota doubled its lead in the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis started the scoring in the big inning with a two-run single.
