The Nobu Yamauchi RBI senior and junior boys teams participated in the Nike RBI West Regional Baseball Tournament from July 17-19 held in Portland, Ore. RBI stands for Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities.

The Nobu Yamauchi RBI senior and junior boys teams participated in the Nike RBI West Regional Baseball Tournament from July 17-19 held in Portland, Ore. RBI stands for Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities.

Teams that participated in the tournament were Arizona, Seattle, Portland, Colorado, Los Angeles, Alaska and Hawaii. Pool play was from the 17th to the 19th. The two teams with the best record advanced to the finals on the July 20.

The senior and junior boys both had two wins and two losses and did not advance to the finals. Los Angeles won the championship in both of those divisions.

Although they fell short, both the junior and senior squads from Hawaii represented their home islands proudly.
