HILO — University of Hawaii at Hilo Athletics has partnered with Athlete’s Thread, a leading provider of officially licensed Name, Image and Likeness merchandise and trading cards, to expand NIL opportunities for its Vulcans student-athletes.

Products on the platform are custom-branded to specific Vulcans student-athletes who have signed up. Fans can shop the current lineup at HiloAthletics.com/merch.

In addition to merchandise, Athlete’s Thread’s trading card offerings introduce a unique and collectible element to NIL, allowing fans, alumni and supporters to engage with Vulcans student-athletes in new and exciting ways.

“We are thrilled to partner with Athlete’s Thread to give our Hawaii Hilo Vulcans a seamless platform to capitalize on their personal brand and their Name, Image and Likeness,” Hawai’i Hilo Director of Athletics Patrick Guillen said. “This collaboration provides our student-athletes with co-branded custom gear while making it easier than ever for our community and fans across Hawai’i to support them directly both on and off the field.”

Hawai’i Hilo is committed to fostering a supportive environment where student-athletes can succeed both on and off the field. By partnering with Athlete’s Thread, the University is enhancing its ability to provide meaningful NIL opportunities that extend beyond competition and into long-term personal and professional development.

This partnership builds on the previously announced opening of the Vulcans NIL store in Sept. 2024, a collaboration between the University of Hawai’i Bookstores and Athletic Solutions. Athlete’s Thread currently partners with more than 415 colleges nationwide and supports over 50,000 student-athletes. The platform offers a full suite of NIL merchandise giving athletes new ways to connect with fans and generate income. The company started in 2013 as Greek House, evolved through College Thread and Threadly, and is now Athlete’s Thread.
