HILO — Hawaii Hilo Athletics and the Vulcan Booster Club invite Big Island volleyball fans to “A Night of Champions” on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel for a celebratory dinner to honor the University of Hawaii at Manoa Men’s Volleyball and Hawaii Hilo women’s volleyball programs. The Rainbow Warriors are making a return trip to Hawaii Island with another inter-island intrasquad showcase on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m. following a Vulcans Women’s Volleyball tilt (2 p.m.) with HPU at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

The Rainbow Warriors are making a return trip to Hawaii Island with another inter-island intrasquad showcase on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m. following a Vulcans Women’s Volleyball tilt (2 p.m.) with HPU at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

UH Manoa island hopped over last October for an intrasquad showcase before going on to capture the program’s third official NCAA National Championship this past May.

The upcoming event is presented in part by generous community sponsors: Big Island Candies, Bank of Hawaii, Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and Hawaiian Airlines. Saturday’s dinner will feature remarks from head coaches and student-athletes, program highlights and opportunities for photos and autographs.

“We extend our gratitude to the Vulcan Booster Club for their unwavering dedication to our program and for driving this incredible initiative,” Hawaii Hilo director of athletics Patrick Guillen said. “We are also thrilled to partner with community champions like Big Island Candies, Bank of Hawai’i, Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and Hawaiian Airlines to host this special night.

“Hawaii is a volleyball state through and through, and bringing together the reigning national champion Rainbow Warriors and our own Vulcans Wahine allows us to celebrate the exceptional talent across the University of Hawai’i while giving our passionate local fans an unforgettable evening.”

Tickets for the “A Night of Champions” dinner are available for purchase at HiloAthletics.com/NOC. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets and table sponsorships are limited and must be reserved in advance. All proceeds from the event will support the Vulcans women’s volleyball program.
