The Daniel K. Inouye Highway is closed near Hilo due to a traffic accident.

Hawaii Police Department said the highway is closed at Kaumana Drive in Hilo and Old Saddle Ranch (Waiki‘’i Ranch) for the next three hours.

HPD did not state how many vehicles are invloved in the accident.

Motorists are asked the avoid the area and use alternate routes.
